Review for Paradise Valley

Review for Paradise Valley
Written By: Dale Cramer

The warmth, love, hardships, sadness, fears, and strength found in this book awed me. This book is based on true events, set in the 1920's, around an Amish community that is being punished for not letting their children attend the public school five days a week. The men are taken and put in prison in the beginning, their children are forced to attend the public school five days a week. While the men are in prison the children are put in an orphanage type setting, where they take their clothes, cut their hair and make them look like any other child. Taking away, in the childrens eyes, their very existence. For the 'good' of the children the government take away part of what the children identify as their heritage as Amish children. Compromises are made for the sake of the children, plans are spun by the Amish parents for a whole new way life for them and their children. Caleb Bender is the first one to take action, he decides that since he cannot break the oath he made to the judge in the United States he will move himself and his family to Mexico. He takes them to a place named Paradise Valley. Though the land is rich, and there is no law for schools there are other struggles and obstacles that the Bender family must overcome. Was it worth it for them to move? Or should they of stayed where they were enduring the change?

Review for Crescendo

Crescendo
Written by: Becca Fitzpatrick

This book made me so frustrated pretty much the entire time I was reading it. It was a frustration that made me crave more of the book so that I could find out if I was right about certain events happening and people doing things. (Like getting back together with a certain sonemone!) Patch (Fallen Angel turned Guardian Angel) and Nora (Girlfriend of Patch turned ex-girlfriend) are at odds with one another throughout the whole book it seems like. Nora is in danger every other page, risking her life and reputation. The end of the book has a definite cliff hanger so be ready! So thankful the next book is already out. If I had read this when it first came out and had to of waited for the third I probably would of screamed out loud. That would of raised a few eyebrows, eh? Sorry sometimes I get very into the books. :D CAn't say much more or it will ruin the book entirely for you. I definitely recommend it to people that enjoy fantasy!

Review for Hush Hush

Hush Hush
By: Becca Fitzpatrick

Caution: May be SPOILERS

This book. Oh this book, hmm what to say first? Angel meets bad boy, introducing Patch. Innocent, good grades, top Ivy school candidate, introducing Nora. These two together make the book come alive. Patch is what they call a fallen angel, he is guilty of something Angels aren't supposed to do. The Avenging Angels ripped his wings literally out of his back leaving gruesome raised scars. Now he wanders the earth an immortal with no way to feel anything physically. He may not be able to feel someone touch his hand but he could feel emotions. Nora puts those emotions in overdrive against Patch's wishes. There's something he desperately needs from her, but he can't seem to make himself take it from her no matter how hard he tries.
Nora was on the road to getting into whatever college she wanted, the most exciting thing happening in her life before Patch came in was her best friend Vee trying to set her up with random guys and finding lame parties to go to. The he came along. A guy taht overwhelmed her senses. She wasn't sure if she should go with her heart or her mind when it came to Patch. Her heart found Patch attractive, a bad boy worth the risk. Her mind blared DANGER, BACK AWAY NOW, RUN, STALKER, WEIRDO.
Things happen, actions set things into motion and Nora finds herself in Patch'a presence more and more often whether she liked it or not.
As the book progresses and more characters enter into the story Nora becomes confused, attracted to different guys, doing things she normally wouldn't do, and thinking she may even be going insane. There's murder, romance, thrills, angels, bad boys, what more could you want?

Books, books, and more books!

We may of been away for half the summer but we kept on reading the entire time. We'll start putting some reviews up soon of some of the books we've read so far. Both Becca and I have really been into paranormal books at the moment. Were-wolves to be specific, so you will see a few of those types of books showing up.
